The true essence of Christmas is found not in what we receive, but in what we give. On Sunday, December 28, 2025, the Mary Nwamadi Foundation returned to its roots of compassion to host a landmark charity event that brought light, laughter, and much-needed relief to the heart of Imo State.
Spreading Joy in Amachara, Azaraegbelu
The Foundation Yuletide Outreach & Widows Support Program took place in the serene Amachara, Azaraegbelu Community of Owerri North LGA. While many were celebrating within the comfort of their homes, our team and volunteers were on the ground fulfilling a profound mission: to ensure that the most vulnerable among us were not forgotten during the holidays.
Impact Beyond Numbers
Our goal was to reach a minimum of 50 widows and less privileged individuals. We are proud to share that we successfully met this target, providing a lifeline of support that included:
- Essential Provisions: Distribution of food items to ensure every beneficiary could enjoy a festive holiday meal.
- Financial Support: Direct cash grants to assist the widows with immediate needs and household stability.
- Tangible Hope: Beyond physical gifts, the event served as a reminder to the community that they are seen and loved.
A Special Recognition: Our 2025 Donors
The success of an outreach this magnitude is never a solo effort. It is the result of the kindness and shared vision of a dedicated group of individuals. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to our esteemed donors, whose financial and moral support made this day possible:
- Dorothy Kleberg
- Charles Kleberg
- Merlynn Kleberg
- Charles Egbujor
- Chima Abakporo
- Joe Amuneke
- Okey Emeribe
- Ben Onu
- John Bosco Abakporo
Your contributions did more than just buy provisions; they restored dignity and provided a sense of security to those who often feel overlooked. On behalf of the Board of Directors and the entire community of Amachara, we say Thank You.
Why We Give
For the Mary Nwamadi Foundation, this outreach is a commitment to the dignity of the human spirit. Widows in our communities often face unique hardships during the festive season. By providing “genuine smiles,” we are not just giving food—we are fostering a sense of belonging.
“The spirit of Christmas is the spirit of giving. To see the relief and joy on the faces of these women in Amachara is the greatest success we could ever ask for.” — Foundation Representative.
Moving Forward
As we close out 2025, we carry the gratitude of the Azaraegbelu community in our hearts. This event marks another milestone in our journey toward a more compassionate society.
